From First U President Cheryl

Thursday, March 27

Dear First U Family,

I am missing all of you so much! It’s been two weeks since we have been able to gather in our Meeting House together. These are extraordinary times. I hope that you are watching YouTube on Sunday mornings to hear uplifting messages and music from Liz, Roger, Cathy, Fred, and Kristi. We are doing our best to stay engaged.

I joined the buddy program (contact Roger if interested) and have been reaching out to my buddy each day. We chat about our day and talk about how we are holding up. It’s a quick check-in but helps me to feel connected.

Even though we are apart right now, I think of you daily. I hope you and your family are well and finding ways to get through these unusual days. These are challenging times, but we will get through them together. Even now when we are not able to meet for Sunday worship, I feel this community surrounding me, creating a foundation from which I continue to feel connected and held.

The governor’s Executive Order stating that gatherings of 10 people or more are prohibited in Rhode Island remains in full force and effect until Monday, March 30, 2020, unless renewed, modified or terminated by subsequent Executive Order. In compliance with this Executive Order, the church will continue to be closed until at least March 30.

Be Well,

Cheryl Bartholomew
