Nikkommo

“Nikkommo, a gift of thanksgiving.” Traditionally Indigenous people celebrate 13 Thanksgivings, one for each new moon, giving thanks for the gifts of Nukhasaukee (Mother Earth). Nikommo is the last Thanksgiving of the Autumn Season.

Lorén Spears, Narragansett, the Executive Director of Tomaquag Museum, will share the story of Nikkommo and the gifts of the season. She will include a traditional prayer in her language as well as a song of remembrance and thanksgiving.
