The exterior of our 200-year-old Meeting House will get a much-needed restoration beginning in April when contractor E. F. O’Donnell begins work. An appointed task force selected O’Donnell based on experience, completeness of bid response, financial health, project delivery history, and project cost.
A recent capital campaign raised $1,180,000 to cover restoration costs. Work is scheduled to be completed in August.
The task force that chose O’Donnell included First Unitarian members Henry Allsworth, Betty Finn, David House, Merritt Meyer, Joseph Wagner, plus architect Corrie de Boer. The Prudential Committee approved the task force’s recommendations at its December meeting and also approved bridge financing between the time the final project invoice comes in and the capital campaign pledge collection is completed.
