We will explore essential questions of faith: how we know what we know, how we believe what we believe. Using ancient texts from the Gnostic Gospels and the Gospel According to John, to late Middle Ages The Cloud of Unknowing, to the 19th c. writings of Unitarian Ralph Waldo Emerson, we’ll look at what they offer our understandings and faith today.
Grown from a conversation between Rev. Liz and First U member Joan Richards, this service will include some thoughts from Joan who will develop them when we explore the impact of objective and subjective distinctions on faith and spirituality.
