On being a Soto Zen Buddhist Priest and Unitarian Universalist

Spiritual exploration has been a lifelong path. Having been a UU for 39 years now and a Soto Zen priest for a year, I reflect on the paths chosen. I see a strong correlation between the zen buddhist precepts, my vows as a priest, and our UU principles.

Rev. Cindy Kudo Shukudo Bapties is a Soto Zen Buddhist priest and a member of First Unitarian Church.  She volunteers as part of the lay ministry team and is continuing to train with NY Zen Center for Contemplative Care, for improving chaplaincy skills.   She also enjoys family, including 7 grandchildren, interfaith activities and visiting hospice patients.
