The UU fifth principle says that we believe in the power of democracy. Specifically, we affirm “the right of conscience and the use of the democratic process within our congregations and in society at large.”
Anne Connor is an activist and a servant leader who has worked tirelessly to promote democracy in a multitude of ways. Her perpetual forward motion is her “superpower”. Ten years ago, in August 2012, Anne represented Rhode Island at the Democratic Party’s convention in Charlotte. She believes that our commitment to democracy has never been more important and she’ll tell you why you should always make the effort to vote.
