Zen Buddhist teaching advises its practitioners, “Try not to try.” When that does not work, the teacher suggests, “Quit trying not to try.” When all else fails, “Quit quitting.” But what about being in control of one’s life – “the master of my fate; the captain of my soul” ? This service will explore the tension between quitting and controlling, and describe the spiritual experience.
