Sorrel will weave together her experiences growing up in a Scottish community in Oregon, the loss of her husband last year, and the insights gained on the pilgrimage to Scotland this past spring.
Originally from Portland Oregon, Sorrel discovered First U in the mid 1980s when her children were young. During her decades-long career as an administrator for social services in Providence public housing, her attendance was sporadic, but, since retiring, she has made a commitment to the church and finally signed the book in 2018. Sorrel is currently active in the Women’s Alliance, Community Band, and Deacons.
Sorrel is a member of the “Sally Racket” singing group and they will provide the music for the service.
