This year’s summer theme is ‘Bridges.’ Humans yearn to be connected to each other and to explore new territory. Whether figurative or literal, bridges help us overcome obstacles, lead us to discoveries, and deepen our connections to others and to the world at large. Learning a foreign language can be a bridge. Listening to someone’s ideas and asking questions can be a bridge. Enlisting engineers and working with metal and mortar can be the beginning of a literal bridge. Building bridges and crossing them are timeless human impulses.
