A Simple Lesson Almost a Lifetime to Learn: Learning to Ask for Help

I was given a gift – the gift of deeply knowing that it’s okay, no, not just okay, it’s important to ask for help. It’s important to allow myself to experience the circle of giving and receiving. This is a community of giving and receiving conversation, giving and receiving all kinds of nourishment for our minds, bodies, and souls. This is my story from the last few years.

My degree in Sociology from the University of Massachusetts, Amherst, helped me land a job in Providence at P.A.C.E. (People Acting Through Community Effort) in the 70’s. When that job ended, I went back to school for a MFA in Fiber Arts and Textile Design at the University of Massachusetts in Dartmouth, MA. Presently, I have a studio in Warren, RI at the Cutler Mills where I try and work my creations with baskets. My other interests are hiking, biking, and a current addiction to Pickleball.
