Please come to the October Parish House Potluck on October 11 at 5:45. There are appetizers in the atrium and a chance to view the new art installment, followed by dinner in the parlor. Bring a dish to share and drinks for your own party. We appreciate different food options, vegetarian, vegan and gluten-free items are welcome, as well as more standard fare.

The supper is sponsored by The Green Team and centered on the LIVABLE RI POSTER CAMPAIGN.

Come and learn about a variety of ways you can have an effect on the environment, from transportation, energy sources, food choices and more. The posters are a product of CACRI, a Civic Alliance for a Cooler RI. This alliance includes many local environmental organizations. The poster project manager was Paul A. Rosselli of CACRI.

The opening reception for the traveling exhibit of 26 framed posters will begin in the Atrium at 5 pm with appetizers and discussions with artists involved in the artwork of the posters. Artists who are church members are Irene Allen, Lucy Handy, Mimo Gordon Riley and Janet Downing Taylor, with concept development by Seth Handy.

Our potluck dinner will begin at 6 pm. We ask that you consider bringing vegetarian dishes and that in all cases please label if Gluten Free, Nut-Free, Vegan or Shellfish.

Our program will begin at 7 pm in the auditorium with First Unitarian member EVA AGUDELO discussing HOPE’S HARVEST RI, which she founded.

Since 2008, she has worked with beginning farmers, restaurants, retailers, farmers markets, non-profits, and hunger relief agencies, to improve community food security and bring about a food system that works for everyone. For more info about her program, go to www.hopesharvest.org.

There will be time for discussion following her presentation.

Child care is available by pre-arrangement when signing up for the supper.
