Discover the ties between early First U members and the business of slavery during the first half of our congregation’s 303-year life at a special potluck dinner and program on Friday, February 17, beginning at 5:30pm in the Parish House.

History Committee member Peter Laarman and history research intern Traci Picard will share key discoveries from their multiyear research project. The final report is expected to make a significant contribution to Rhode Island history as well as to our understanding of this church’s distinctive role in the life of the city between 1720 and 1860.

Potluck dinner begins at 5:30pm, and the program starts at 7pm.The event is hosted by the History and Mosaic Committees. They request a voluntary donation of $2 per person or $5 per family to offset event costs.

To help us plan, please sign up online or call the church office, letting us how many people are in your party and what you plan to bring for the table. Child care is available by advance request to the church office.
