The Women’s Alliance was established in 1882 and continues to be to serve the community, both locally and at large, to provide friendship and spiritual and cultural stimuli for its members, and to support the church and its denomination. The business meeting starts at 10:00 AM, followed by a program at 11:00 AM which is open to everyone who is interested, and concludes with a delicious catered luncheon beginning at noon ($10).  Contact: Nori Duncan, Alliance President nori.duncan@gmail.com

This month’s meeting features:

Sisterhood of Salaam Shalom: Building Bridges across Religious Difference

Speakers: Aisha Manzoor and Sarah Mack

Aisha and Sarah will share the story of their own friendship and how they have worked with partners in both of their communities to build strong ties between Rhode Island’s Jewish and Muslim communities.

Aisha Manzoor earned an M.A. in Islamic theology and jurisprudence in Bradford, England. She taught at Islamic schools for six years and now home schools her three children. She is a volunteer with the RI Muslim community and at Masjid al-Islam, where her husband is the imam.

Sarah Mack is a rabbi at Temple Beth-El, where she has served for 14 years, and president of the Board of Rabbis of Greater Rhode Island. All are welcome to attend the Women’s Alliance programs and luncheons.

Camp Street Ministries: A reminder
